What is the Fairway Computer User Group?

Fairway CUG is an organization of computer users who live in Fairway Village. They are dedicated to aiding and encouraging personal computer use among Fairway Village residents and their guests.

How do I join the Fairway CUG?
Pick up a registration form from the Computer Classroom (3-5 pm weekdays) or attend a meeting and register. Fill out the registration form and pay $10 dues for your current year membership.

What does the club do with my dues?
The club buys computer equipment and furniture for training, supplies for preparing handouts and for classes, and pays for Internet service and for this website.  No salaries are paid.

How do I know my computer skill level?
See class info page for guidelines to help determine your computer skill level.

Do I have to pay for a computer class?
Classes are free, and needed supplies are provided from dues money.

Can I use the club computers to go online for personal use?

During open hours in the classroom, members may use computers and the wireless Internet service. See the Open Hours page on this website.

Will I be able to read my email on one of the club computers?

Yes, you can usually access your Internet Service Provider's home page and sign in to read and send email using any of the seven computers in the Computer Room.

Why does the club meet on a Tuesday evening?
Many members requested an evening meeting time. Some of our members work at daytime jobs, and others go outside the Village to serve as volunteers or to play golf.

Also, the third Tuesday of each month was the only available evening meeting time in the Clubhouse.
