Please pay your 2012 dues now to support Fairway Village's own computer club (members helping members)!

Our next GENERAL MEETING is in the clubhouse on Tuesday, February 28, at 7 PM. Members will share their favorite computer programs and websites.

Please volunteer to share with the rest of us if you have a great computer place. Call Jim Fleming or Ed Watzel, or attend the staff meeting in Conference Room on Thurs, Feb 2, 7 pm.

At our January 24 meeting, Doc Dockery, president of TBCS, told us about the latest in mobile devices. He demonstrated:

-- an Apple iPhone 4s, taking photos and instructing "Siri," the artificial intelligence, to make calls for him and give him directions to locations he wanted to visit. The 3G Internet connection over cell phone towers is $30 per month, or you can access the Internet for free over wireless networks.

--a Zoom tablet computer, telling us how fond his wife is of this easy, portable computer manufactured by Toshiba. Tablets use touch screen technology and icons, wireless technology or 3G cell phone connections, and touch keyboards.

--a Kindle book reader, sold by Amazon.com, very inexpensive and offering a wealth of books at prices considerably below retail.

Our COMPUTER CAFE' on Dec. 27 was a big success! We enjoyed punch, cookies, cake, pastries, and coffee. And we walked around to seven stations where volunteers demonstrated:
